1. Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church Marker
Inscription. Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church organized in 1864, the first colored church in Meade County established in conjunction with the efforts of Buck Grove Baptist Church, on land donated by Brother Cato VanMeter, with Rev. Andrew Allen as the first pastor. The Church Fellowship hall served as the grade school for the Zion Grove Community during segregation. The Church has served as a beacon of love, hope and pride in the community.
