1. Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wikipedia. The Walk of Fame idea was conceived by E.M. Stuart in 1953, who was volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The dream was realized by the end of the decade, after many bumps including design tests and lawsuits. The stars mentioned on the marker were originally placed at the northwest corner of Hollywood and Highland as a way to generate publicity and to demonstrate how the Walk of Fame would look in the future. As of mid-2022, there are over 2,700+ stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and it is visited by 10 million tourists from around the world.
