Pat moved from Nebraska in 1895, married in 1912. He was a lawyer, Clerk of Circuit Court, County Attorney, Prosecuting Attorney, City Commissioner and Mayor. He urged city to buy Lakefront Park land. He owned angus herd, introduced Brahman bulls to county. Adalene, influential in the cattle business, gave generously to her church and county
