In 1911, early pioneer Zeb Pearce started in the produce business, two buildings to the east, and moved to this location in 1915. It was occupied by the Pearce family for 88 years.
Later called Zeb Pearce Companies, Zeb had one of the first ammonia cooler refrigerator boxes in Arizona. In 1933, he became the first distributor for Coors Beer because of this cooler.
