Inscription.  Built in 1891, this ranks among the city's oldest business estab;ishments. One of Mesa's first buildings with electricity. The second story, Pomeroy Hall, was used for social gatherings.

Built in 1891 by the sons of Francis Pomeroy,
one of Mesa’s founding fathers, this building
housed one of the city’s earliest businesses.
Wayne Pomeroy established the Pomeroy
Men’s Store in 1951 on the east side of the
building, and Gordon’s Shoe Store was on
the west section until 1975.
