1. From the Downtown Mesa Walking Tour Brochure
Built in 1891 by the sons of Francis Pomeroy,
one of Mesa’s founding fathers, this building
housed one of the city’s earliest businesses.
Wayne Pomeroy established the Pomeroy
Men’s Store in 1951 on the east side of the
building, and Gordon’s Shoe Store was on
the west section until 1975.
