Inscription. This manufacturing and mercantile company built in 1889 housed Mesa's first general merchandise store. Zenos, a prophet in the Book of Mormon, was an early name for Mesa.

building. Blocks of ice were put
in a container in the back of the building and a large fan behind the ice distributed the cool air to vents under the theater seats. The theater
existed until 1951.

In 1884, the Zenos Co-op Manufacturing
and Mercantile Company was at this
location. By 1905, the LeSueur-Gibbons
Mercantile Company group built a new two
story building here and had a successful
business until the early 1920s when the
building was destroyed by fire.
