1. Van Buren Marker
Inscription. Non-extant town est. on the Tombigbee River in 1838 by Winfield Walker. Named for President Martin Van Buren. Flourished briefly in the 1840's. Declined between 1850-60 when the railroad was built W. of the town.
 
Erected 1985 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
