1. Col. John Weir House Marker
Inscription. Built 1878. this was the home of Col. John Weir (1833-1900), who was twice wounded during the Civil War. Col. Weir, for whom the town of Weir was named, established a water and saw mill complex near here in 1870. Descendants of John and Emily Weir lived in the house until 1985.
 
Erected 2013 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
