1. Fussell House Marker
Inscription. This was the home of artist Charles Lewis Fussell, 1840-1909, from 1900 to 1909. Fussell was a farmer, Western pioneer and Civil War veteran who spent his most productive artistic years here with his Aunt Grace Anna Lewis, a well known painter and naturalist. A frequent visitor was Fussell's friend and teacher Thomas Eakins, the famous Philadelphia artist.
