1. Robert "Black Bob" Renfro Marker
Inscription. Robert "Black Bob" Benfro was a slave given permission to sell "Liquor and Victuals" by the county court in 1794. He was emancipated in 1801 and purchased and maintained an inn and livery stable on the north side of the Public Square, where he operated under the sign of the Cross Keys.
