Charleroi in Washington County, Pennsylvania — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Louis Goaziou: 1864-1937
This was the print shop and residence of an internationally known Franco-American Socialist Anarchist & Leading Founder & Commander of the North American Co-Masons. Born in Scrignac, Brittany, France, he received an advanced education, developed socialist beliefs, came to America as a teenager and worked in the coal mines. This convinced him to begin to become more aggressive about his beliefs. He and his wife became very involved in helping women becoming Masons, and the first chapter took place here.
