1. Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Marker
Inscription. On this site stood the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, consecrated October 17, 1933, by the Reverend John Morris, Bishop of Little Rock. This Romanesque Revival building was built with the help of parishioners to replace the previous church, Saint Roman's, which had burned down in 1896. The church served the community in religious and outreach programs for 84 years until it closed on October 1, 2017. The congregation had outgrown the building, but many features such as the Stations of the Cross, pews, and stained-glass windows were preserved and used in the construction of the church’s successor building at 1107 East Highland Drive.
