1. The Culbertson House Marker

Inscription. Built by William S. Culbertson, one of Indiana's pioneer industrialists and cotton merchant. There are 5 houses in New Albany built by Mr. Culbertson for his family, this is the grand mansion and exceptional in every respect. The building was acquired by Historic New Albany, Inc., in the summer of 1964 for preservation, through efforts and funds from Chester B. Stem, Inc. Most of the restoration has been accomplished through donations.
