First Theatre of Cuernavaca
In this house was the first theater of the city, known as the "Juan Ruiz de Alarcón". It occupied part of the old Hermitage of San Pedro. It was inaugurated by Governor Francisco Leyva in 1872 and destroyed by a fire in 1875. Later the Porfirio Diaz Theater, now called today the Morelos Theater, was built behind this building.
