1. Operation Enduring Freedom Marker
Inscription. Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) is the official name for the War in Afghanistan under the umbrella of Global War on Terrorism. As a response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the United States launched military operations in Afghanistan in October 2001. The successful Operation stopped the Taliban from providing safe haven for al Queda and other terrorist organizations. Operation Enduring Freedom ended in December 2014.

In recognition of the dauntless Tennesseans who served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom

"We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter; and we will not fail. Peace and Freedom will prevail."
President George W. Bush
