1. Operation Iraqi Freedom Marker
Inscription. Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) is the official name of the War in Iraq under the umbrella of the Global War on Terrorism in March 2003, the president of the United States authorized the mission to rid Iraq of the tyrannical dictator Saddam Hussein and eliminated his reported possession and ability to develop Weapons of Mass Destruction. Hussein was captured during the campaign by American Forces and turned over to his liberated people who tried him for his humanitarian crimes. Hussein was executed on December 30, 2006. Operation Iraqi Freedom ended in August 2010.
