Inscription. House built 1860's. Second floor added after 1926 fire. Home to Newburgh Register publisher and Newburgh Bandmember Albert "Boonie" Burns; Methodist minister S. Stroud; and Castle H.S. founding proponent Eldredge Rust with wife schoolteacher Nellie Jane Brown-Rust.
 
Erected 2000 by Women's Club of Newburgh, Indiana.
