1. Professor Durgin Home Marker
Inscription. Built 1873. Home to Prof. Henry B. Durgin who began Newburgh's largest private school in 1851. His wife Mary was granddaughter to early area settler and woodsman, Bailey Anderson. During 1920's, this was home to Herbert Ellis and wife Eula, pianist for Princess Theater.
 
Erected 2001 by Women's Club of Newburgh, Indiana.
