Inscription. Federal style house built ebeet 1855 by Peter Koch, who came from Darmstedt, Germany. At his place of business on Water St. he sold groceries, provisions, queensware, glassware, tobacco and notions. On Oct. 1, 1865 he was married to Margarethe Renschler from New Orleans.

Erected 1975 by Women's Club of Newburgh, Indiana.
