1. Bakery Shop Building Marker
Inscription. Built by A. M. Phelps. George Fuquay and sons opened Fuquay Department Store in 1860 and did business here for 24 years. Later it housed both bakery and grocery stores. At one time the telephone exchange was on the second floor.
 
Erected 1983 by Women's Club of Newburgh, Indiana.
