1. St. John's Church Marker
Inscription. This parish, organized in 1843 by members of St. Andrew's Church, worshipped first in a nearby frame structure where Cornelius Vanderbilt was the first child baptized. This church, designed in a Gothic style by Arthur Gilman was dedicated in 1871 by Bishop Horatio Potter.
 
Erected 1962 by The New York Community Trust.
