Inscription. This park is dedicated to Alonzo Gordon Dudley

He served as Mayor of Athens for 12 years 1926-1935 and 1938-39

his untiring efforts towards civic improvement and his countless philanthropic deeds contributed greatly to the economic development of the city and helped to enrich the lives of its citizens.

Such dedicated years of service will long be remembered and cherished.
