Photographed By Devry Becker Jones (CC0), October 15, 2022
The General know as "Father of American Cavalry" came to America to fight on the American side in the Revolutionary War from Warsaw, Poland in 1778. He commanded a group of cavalry which was known as Pulaski's Legion. While fighting for our freedoms, Pulaski died from wounds he suffered during the Battle of Savannah. In 2009 he was made an Honorary Citizen of the United States for his fight on the American side in the Revolutionary War. This honor has rarely been granted; only eight people in the entire history of the United States have received it.
You can find this war hero's original statue at Riverfront Park in Garfield, NJ.
