1. St. George Hotel Marker
Inscription. Built in 1908 by J. Alves & Co., Jose Alves and Tom Enos, brother-in-law, from Sγo Jorges, Azores. Stained glass windows depict scenes from the island. The hotel had 14 rooms and 1 bath upstairs and an office, lobby and saloon downstairs. It was one of the most elegant lodges and dining spots in Stanislaus County.
