1. White Pine Marker
Inscription. White Pine derived its name from the white pine tree which stood here in 1893. The name was suggested by Richard White to satisfy government officials who requested a name to make the post office a legal reality. The original pine tree was destroyed by lighting in 1897. Another white pine tree symbolic of our town and commemorating the original tree was planted July 4, 1970.
 
Erected by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, White Pine Lions Club, White Pine Jaycees, and American Legion Post 201.
