1. Perry Wallace Marker
Inscription. Perry Wallace was a 1966 graduate of Pearl High School. He went on to become the first African American varsity athlete in the Southeastern Conference while playing basketball for Vanderbilt University. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1970 NBA draft. After his basketball career he went on to become an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice and then a Professor of Law at The American University.
