Inscription. Bishop Graves founded the Temple Church in Nashville in 1977. His professional career began with training at the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville and hen proceeded to the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. Several of his professors at Wesley who had taught Dr. King Jr., recognized the potential Dr. Graves had and encouraged him throughout his career.
