1. Dr. George Brooks, Sr. Marker
Inscription. Reverend Brooks received his degree from the American Baptist College. He is presently the pastor of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, where he has served since June 1954. Rev. Brooks was elected president of Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee in 1995 which gave him leadership over 130 Middle Tennessee Churches. He served until 2003 when he was appointed director of the Congress Of Christian Workers of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.
