1. James 'Tex' Thomas Marker
Inscription. Pastor Thomas has led the Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church since 1971. He studied at the American Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained as a minister in 1970. Reverend Thomas has always been a spokesman for the poor and downtrodden, a spiritual leader for his congregation, and a teacher of politicians, including a Vice President.
