Built in 1926 for James Daniel Derby. Designed in the American Modernistic architectural style with Mayan features by Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright. Built with pre-cast and knitted concrete blocks. Designated a Glendale Historical Landmark in 1977, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
