Inscription.

(English translation:)

Dutch architect, planner, draftsman and painter. He was one of the most influential artists of the 16th century because of his mastery of perspective, and because of his publications, designs and decorations. He designed, however, much more than he carried out.

He worked as an architect in Antwerp, Hamburg, and Prague, but there are no known buildings of his. His influence lies mainly in his books, especially those on perspective, which he had studied for over forty years.
