1. Gibbons Residence Marker
Inscription. William & Joellyn Gibbons commissioned architect Jeffrey Harbinson to design this Adirondack styled home on the former site of the Blowing Rock Hotel. The hotel was opened in 1889 to accommodate Blowing Rock's growing resort community. The home is recognized for its rugged finish, outstanding craftsmanship and use of native materials.
