1. Blowing Rock Negro Community Church Marker

Inscription. As Blowing Rock's first African American church, this building served the religious and social activities of its members from 1949 until 1980. Funds for the purchase of the land came from a community fund drive. In 1982, First Independent Baptist Church moved its services to this location.
