Excerpt (in translation): Carl Führich was born in Moravia in 1865, the son of a district judge. In 1877 he came to Vienna, where from 1881 to 1886 he studied organ and music theory at the Conservatory with Anton Bruckner, composition with Franz Krenn and piano with Wilhelm Schenner and August Sturm. Führich first became a pianist, but then worked as an organist and music teacher. In 1898 he became choirmaster of the Maria Treu Church and deputy choirmaster of the Wiener Singakademie . From 1888 to 1903 he was a harmonium player in Nathaniel Rothschild's house orchestra . He composed mainly choral music, sacred works, but also operas and symphonies.
