The Class of 1943
to mark its 55th reunion
proudly rededicates this memorial to all from the University of Pennsylvania who served in our nation's wars, and to its classmate, Private First Class
Frederick C. Murphy
65th Infantry Division, United States Army who gave his life at Saarlautern, Germany, 18 March 1945 and was awarded his country's Medal of Honor for his "unquenchible spirit of self-sacrifice and supreme devotion to duty."
 
Erected 1998 by University of Pennsylvania Class of 1943.
