Inscription. A date-stone high on the north façade proclaims "1901 Huber". Huber Manufacturing Company. constructed their sturdy factory with brick bearing walls and tall work-spaces in the era of steam-powered farm implements. In 1905 ten of Lincoln's thirteen threshing machine companies were located in the general Haymarket area and Lincoln newspapers estimated the annual value of the local thresher trade at $1.5 million, second only to Kansas City.

Port Huron Machinery & Supply Company followed Huber in the building, occupying it from 1941 until the 1980s. The faded, painted wall signs combine messages of Huber and Port Huron, tractors and threshers, whispering of nearly a century of serving farmers.

Erected 2014 by Lincoln Haymarket Development Corporation.

A Lincoln newspaper boasted in 1904: "This is a fact that Lincoln people ought to repeat over and over again, that this is the best machine town west of the Mississippi River." Estimates of a $1.5 million thresher trade for 1904 placed Lincoln second only to Kansas City.
