This region is associated with the historic Portuguese settlement known as Machado’s Corner, a Portuguese immigrant settlement in Fremont at the turn of the 20th century. This home is a good example of the vernacular architecture that represents the Queen Anne cottage type, a once common but now rare architectural style in the Fremont area.
