More about this marker. This historical marker is located just off the southeast corner of the Crawford County Courthouse, in downtown Bucyrus. It is worth noting that Crawford County is named after Colonel William Crawford whose 1782 military expedition against the Sandusky Valley Indians is featured on this historical marker. It is also noteworthy that the Crawford County Courthouse has a statue of its namesake built right into the design of the courthouse structure.
