Excerpt on the rescue of art (in translation): Timoteo Pérez Rubio took care of the custody and transfer to Geneva in 1939 of the main works of art of Spanish heritage to avoid possible damage caused by bombing or looting. This feat involved the evacuation of more than 500 paintings, 180 drawings and the Dolphin Treasure Jewels, which were taken in 71 trucks to Perpignan and, from there, by train to Geneva. The then president of the Central Board took extreme care of him so that the works of art did not suffer damage, rolling up the paintings and placing them in air-conditioned boxes. The artist himself accompanied the transfer of the works and would no longer return to Spain.(Submitted on December 10, 2022.)
