1. Lodge of Amity No. 5 Free and Accepted Masons Marker

Inscription. The Lodge of Amity, one of the six founding lodges of the Grand Lodge of Ohio, was chartered on June 24, 1805, and first met in the Benoni Pierce Hotel at the northeast corner of Main and Fifth Streets, Zanesville. This marker was erected in celebration of Ohio's 175th anniversary.

Erected 1978 by The 22 Lodges of the 18th Masonic District, Muskingum, Noble, and Monroe Counties and The Ohio Historical Society. (Marker Number 6-60.)

marker was removed after the lodge was destroyed by fire in 2021. As of December 2022, only the empty lot remains.
