Willem Albarda
Hij was een Nederlands minister en lid van de Raad van State. Van 1913 tot 1939 zat hij in de Tweede Kamer en in 1925 volgde hij Pieter Jelles Troelstra op als voorzitter van de socialistische SDAP-fractie. Hij was overtuigd sociaal- democraat maar praktijkgericht en gematigd en werd daarom ook door politieke tegenstanders zeer gewaardeerd.
Willem Albarda was a Dutch minister and member of the Council of State. From 1913 to 1939 he was a member of the House of Representatives and in 1925 he succeeded Pieter Jelles Troelstra as chairman of the socialist SDAP party. He was a convinced social democrat, but practical and moderate, and was therefore highly esteemed by his political opponents.
