"Harry was elected to the Merced County Board of Supervisors in 1945 and served for 28 years. He was a director of the Stanislaus-Merced-Madera Tuberculosis Sanitarium in Ahwahnee. He also served on numerous committees for the county, state and federal government and was president of the California State Supervisors Association, director of the National Supervisors Association and director of the Merced County Mutual Insurance Co."
