The natural prairie-stye landscape of Gaukler Pointe is nationally significant as one of the fines examples of the mature work of the style's foremost proponent, landscape artist Jens Jensen. The country home estate represents a fruitful collaboration between Jensen, The Fords, architect Albert Kahn, and industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague during the years 1926-1940.
