Iron County Logging Camps
Early records show pine logging in 1875 along major rivers. By 1886, 30 camps were located in the Crystal Falls area alone. The 1920s Sharrard Camp is believed to be the last standing camp of the era. It is representative of much larger, earlier camps that housed as many as 60 men and 30 teams of horses.

Visit the Museum main building to see additional logging artifacts and the Monigal Miniature Camp, believed to be the largest in the world.

Erected by Iron County Historical and Museum Society; Western Upper Peninsula Heritage Trail; and Iron County Heritage Trail.
