Joined the Piarist order (1834), taught as a high school teacher (from 1825) in Krems, Vienna and Horn and worked as a dialect poet (among other things, he wrote the fragmentary dialect epic "Da Naz, a Niederösterreichischer Bauernbui geht in d'Fremd", which is the story of a farm boy who went abroad, giving a picture of village life at that time).
