Michael Louis Burd, son of Mike and Laura Burd, attended 8 years of school at Munfordville Elementary School and 4 years at Hart County high School before graduating in 1989. Michael was a two-time All-State player for the Raiders and led the HCHS team to the 1989 Kentucky State Tournament. In his first state tournament game Michael poured in 41 points as he led his team to the quarterfinals. He started the most winning games in the school's history. Michael played 4 years at the United States Naval Academy, and at one time. held the record for the most three pointers in an NCAA game, with 7.
