Buford and Celdon Lewallen House. Featuring a unique cherry paneled study, this traditional cottage home was built in 1949 for Judge William Buford Lewallen (1920-2003) and Celdon Medaris Lewallen (1921-2012). Judge Lewallen, son of William Everett and Annette Stansberry Lewallen, was judge of both the Trial Justice Court and Juvenile Court of Anderson County. He was Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives 1947-1949, the youngest state representative ever elected at the time. Mrs. Lewallen, the daughter of Glenn and Cora Medaris, was a teacher at Clinton High School during the integration crisis. She served on the Clinton Recreation Commission and was appointed by the governor to the Tennessee State Museum Foundation Board. The Lewallens had one daughter. Ann Dancy Lewallen Jones, executive director of the Tennessee Film, Entertainment, and Music Commission.
