1. 45 Beacon Street Marker
The marker has been defaced but remains legible.
Inscription. This was Harrison Gray Otis' third house, built in 1806. Like his other two houses, it was designed by Charles Bulfinch. His three mansion, all built within ten years, leave a remarkable architectural record of their times. The first, at 141 Cambridge Street, is now the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities. The second, a private residence, is at 85 Mt. Vernon Street.
