This monument, honoring our Greatest Generation,
is made of the same granite used in the construction
of the National WW II Memorial

Kershaw granite was quarried for its superior strength and durability.
Representing a unique time in American history, the unwavering material
reflects the fortitude and courage of United States veterans. The quiet
beauty of its calm surface is a reminder that WWII included every
soldier and citizen. The foundation for this tribute is deep, solid
and will not bow to our enemies.

Let us be humble. Freedom is a gift.
