1. McAdory House Marker
Inscription. A cotton plantation house circa 1840, with about 2,000 acres. Built by Thomas McAdory, Jr., the pioneer architecture was the dog-trot style built of numbered hand-hewn logs and wooden pegs. Born here: Robert McAdory, first mayor of Bessemer and Dr. Thomas M. Owen, a founder of the Alabama State Archives and Department of History.
